What FileNation is

FileNation uses IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) to make sharing a file as simple as sending a link, but without depending on a central server. The file lives distributed, not on a single machine that someone can switch off or censor.

Why it mattered

It reached the front page of Hacker News and has accumulated more than 860 stars on GitHub —a public, verifiable signal that it solved something real for other people—. The code is still open.
